When dealing with people, do you consider your gains rather than engaging from a point of genuine interest and compassion? You may want to check if you are living life based on your self-interest.
Self-interest is your personal interest or advantages, especially when pursued without regard for others.
You should learn to live in harmony with others and don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all.
Let the inner movement of your heart always be to love one another and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask. Despise evil and embrace everything good and virtuous.
Live happily together in a spirit of harmony and be mindful of another’s worth as you are of your own.
Don’t live with a lofty mindset, thinking you are too important to serve others, but be willing to do menial tasks and identify with those who are humble-minded. Don’t be smug or ever think for a moment that you know it all.
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
The scripture says in 1 Peter 3:8, “Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another, be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.”
Psalm 133:1, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.”
Galatians 6:10, “Therefore as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Romans 12:10, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
1 Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not a God of disorder but harmony – oneness.” Lastly, Colossians 3:15 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart since as members of one body you were called to peace and be thankful.”
The more we deepen our thoughts and evolve in knowledge, we realize that we are the architect of our suffering or enjoyment.
We are all interconnected and in oneness, therefore:
· When there is no order in a relationship or anywhere, chaos thrives.
· Hatred flourishes where there is no love.
· Intimidation blooms where there is no community.
Every individual that passes through our lives contributes to our life stories. Some play large roles and make deep impressions, but sometimes a brief special appearance before life changes the route to another direction creates a meaningful connection.
To live harmoniously, we need to be supportive and helpful to all people, creatures, and plants that share the environment with us. Being in service genuinely to others is what makes us good citizens of the world. It is truly enjoyable and beneficial to help others.
When we offer our services without expecting anything in return, we turn our actions into offerings. Expectations are the root of suffering.
Your power is defined by your gifts and talents that are demonstrated positively to touch the lives of others.
Every idle and dormant gift unexpressed in potential form can fill the void in someone else’s life. People who are depressed and commit suicide have potential they couldn’t express to another person.
Just as your existence is made richer by the love, support, friendship, aid, compassion, and empathy of others, so you too can add richness to the lives of others.
Your natural ability to soothe hurt, encourage and inspire compassion, dance, knit, organize, or think outside the norm of reasoning and analyzing can be a boon to someone in need.
Why then do we have:
· Unwanted manifestation
· Unexplained occurrences
· Unprogressive life
· Unsatisfied living
· Unattractive life
The more I ponder on this, the more I study and realize that ignorance is the root problem. Here in this part of our world, we don’t experiment, we just flow with the status quo.
That is why at StandOut, we are committed to challenging the status quo, hence, we encourage reversal thinking because we co-create our life, despite the circumstance we find ourselves. Whether we are progressive or not, our happenings are subconsciously influenced by us. Life is sustained by laws and breaking the laws consciously or unconsciously, knowingly or unknowingly will not deter the consequences.
The universe forms the foundation for unwanted manifestation, unexplained occurrences, unprogressive life, unsatisfied living, and unattractive life which is a function of breaking the law.
Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 “Because God does not punish sinners immediately, people feel safe to do wrong…”
We often hear the phrase ‘that is life’ when the unexpected happens. But in the real sense, this phrase only comes to play when we don’t know and apply the laws of life. Wisdom and understanding can be given, but knowledge is intentionally acquired.
Joshua 1:8 “Study this book of instruction continually, meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it – only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
We have to be one with the instructions to have the desired good health, happiness, satisfaction, and wellness.
But when self-interest does not align with these universal instructions, you will have a life full of shortcomings.
If the majority of us come into this awareness of acquiring the functionality of what-we-project-is-what-comes-back-to-us-in-return, then we commence the comeback that will outdo our present experiences. When we understand that our life is rooted in our hearts, and our heart contains instructions and once you disobey the instructions you will not be able to live your desired life.
The other day on a plane, a gentleman who was supposed to have his nose mask on sneezed. Ordinarily, my preference and my self-interest would have been to let him know he should cover up properly, meanwhile, his preference was that the nose mask was uncomfortable for him to sneeze into. Now there are two preferences, his and mine. My thought or my preference would create hurt and doesn’t align with his. At that instance, I had to be compassionate with him, decided to put myself in his shoes, knowing that any alternative that could give him that ease of life will probably be better.
In the universal law, we are one, and what affects one, affects all. Imagine I stayed on my preference and he stayed on his preference, there would have been a clash and we wouldn’t come into harmony. But eventually, we were able to harmonize and we talked about the implications and importance of him also protecting the other person. In the end, my self-interest did not override his which inversely brought abundant life, and unconditional love towards each other.
We can either maintain the original balance of oneness or allow individuality, and self-interest cause imbalance and keep separating us from each other.
Everything we do and say has an effect and impact on the people around us.
It is your choice that determines the result you will experience, through how you see things, how you think, your action, belief, and emotion – which is energy that reflects on our experiences.
Life is created through obedience.
Isaiah 1:19 says, “If you will obey me, you will eat the fruit of the land.”
When we don’t follow the natural laws and we are self-interested, we suffer more. That’s why we have unproductive and unprogressive life.
Results influence the choice of decision you make.
Let’s assume that I am very knowledgeable and I see danger in a house. Then, I go on to say to everybody in this house should put on footwear for safety measures.
I should consider that other people had grown up without putting on footwear in the house, and change cannot be enforced into their subconscious; I have to be the one adjusting first, and with time they would. Interestingly, when the bible asked us to love, it asked us to consider our neighbor. So, not being considerate is being disobedient to the law of oneness. And when you enforce such a decision, you become unattractive and unprogressive. Mind you, we don’t create by forcing but by empowering.
If your life is stagnated, check your self-interest.
